Kids Playing Soccer


Age: 9 years and above


Duration:  1 hour per session


Benefits: Skills training clinics are designed for soccer players looking to advance their technical skills and receive specialized coaching/instruction beyond their usual team training in an equally fun environment. The sessions will focus on the technical fundamentals required to play a skillful offence/defense and to improve the player’s overall performance in the game.

Ben Ossei-Akoannor

Ben was born in Ghana, West Africa and played competitive soccer in several youth soccer clubs in Ghana, Washington DC and Maryland.  He has over 25 years of playing experience.  Ben was named to the All-Conference First Team in High School three times.  Ben played four years of collegiate soccer for York College in Pennsylvania where he was awarded the player with most goals scored over a three-year period.  Due to his outstanding collegiate performance, Ben was named to the CAC All-Conference First Team in all fours years of play.  In 2009 Ben was inducted into the York College of PA Athletic Hall of Fame and was named to the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Silver Anniversary Team in 2014.

After graduation, Ben stayed with his Alma Mater’s Soccer Program to become the Assistant Coach for the squad.  His duties for the Athletic Department at York College expanded to coaching the York College Women’s Soccer Program for two years at club level.  Following a successful coaching stint at York College of PA, Ben became the Assistant Coach for the Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) Men’s Soccer Program. Since leaving the PGCC’s Soccer Program, he has since joined several local clubs and state teams, including Maryland state Olympic Development Program (ODP), REAL Maryland Soccer Club, Thunder Soccer Club and the Calverton Soccer Club where he coached the boy’s youth soccer teams. Currently, Ben holds the position of head soccer coach for the boys travel teams at Ellicott City Soccer Club.  He holds his National and Advanced National Coaching Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
